Over the past five years the kids’ playgroup has really done a lot of fun things around Portland.  Now, with the younger kids going out on their own, although I am sure we will find new things to do, we will do many of the same things, because they are just fun for kids.  I really enjoyed the outing the kids had today.  We began at OMSI, an old favorite, and then had lunch at Slappy Cakes.  This was fun not only because Cole and Delaney love pancakes any time of day, but because you get to choose your batter, additions (fruits and nuts) and cook it yourself right at your table.  Cole’s favorite part was having our own spatula.  Both Cole and Delaney had no problem finishing off our batter, plus some blueberries and sausage.  And for this mama, vegan batter and sausage options was a nice unexpected bonus.  Definitely, a very fun lunch for everyone!
