Recently, Cole has really started to be interested in lions.  He has been drawing pictures of them and doing his version of ‘roaring’ almost continuously. Last week, it was disappointing to go to the Zoo’s Predators of the Serengeti exhibit and see no lions out.  This evening, however, Cole was able to see not only both the male and female lions, but see them relatively close up.  It was really fun to watch him when he was finally able to see them—a mix of excitement and awe.  We are fortunate to live so close to a zoo that the kids are able to see the animals beyond just pictures in a book.  They definitely love their trips to the Zoo, and this evening, our beautiful, moderate summer weather made for a wonderful evening!
