Today was Franny’s first day on the school running team.  The team meets twice a week, now through the month of October.  They don’t compete, but they can participate in local cross country ‘all-comer’ meets throughout September and October.  Franny isn’t really interested in competing, she just wants to run and not think about winners and losers.  For some reason, she thinks she is slow, but she actually is quite fast!  I told her that in running, she is competing against herself and her last time, but she still wasn’t interested.  And, that’s fine with me—I just think it’s great that she has so much fun with it.  Today they ran around the track, went through an obstacle course, and ran along the forest trail adjacent to the school.  When it was all over, she wanted to go run some more!  It was definitely a great first day!
