Last week, Franny attended her last camp of the summer at Tryon Creek State Park. Her group was called Forest Secrets, and they hiked the trails and learned about the plants and animals in the different areas of the park. Unlike her other camps, this was more traditional in the summer camp sense of being in a nature setting; the counselors had special names--Franny's counselor was Sunshine; each day they packed a lunch and snacks, and kept those and everything else they needed in their backpacks. She had a really good time--probably her favorite things were going with her friend, Megan, and getting her face painted. And, of course, singing the Crawdad Song!
