Big kids, little kids, and Delaney

The first week of each month, the kids' playgroup meets in the afternoon, giving the older, school kids the chance to get together and stay connected.   Franny loves these days!  All these friendships are still very important to her, and she is always asking when the next playgroup will be and who will be able to go.  Of all the activities and classes that Franny has done, this group of kids and the playgroup they have shared since they were just a few months old has had the biggest impact on her and is the one that she values the most.  Although they are now going to different schools and involved in their own activities, they are able to come together once a month and have a great time together, not unlike when they saw each other on a weekly basis.   This week, the met to ride the Portland Tram, as well as the streetcar, and then had dinner at the Spaghetti Factory.  Everybody had a great time, but I don't think Franny stopped smiling the entire time!  And, while it was a fun excursion planned, it was being with her friends that made her so happy.  With the busy schedules that all these kids have, I am glad that we are able to make the time once a month to come together.  And, given all their interaction, smiles, and enthusiasm, it's quite obvious the kids are glad too!
