When we took Franny to school today, the first thing she said when we got into the car was What a beautiful day!  And, it definitely was—cool, but gorgeous blue skies and sunshine.  We’ve actually had a number of these kind of days this past month, but too often we haven’t been able to get outside and enjoy them.  I wasn’t about to let that happen today.  We’ve all been fighting a cough and cold and I thought some sunshine on our faces and fresh air was exactly what we needed.  And, with Franny in her Mandarin class, we had a little extra time.  Cole and I absolutely loved our walk—he chattered on and on about everything, waved to the landscapers, and held on to Delaney’s stroller in a very big-brotherly fashion.  Delaney, however, was uncharacteristically quiet, although she seemed content and actually started to fall asleep during our final stretch.  Unfortunately, it wasn’t from the sunshine but from a fever that had started to creep up on her.  I didn’t realize how miserable she really looked until I saw our pictures later.  I should have known when Cole couldn’t get her to giggle and chatter that something was wrong.  Hopefully, she will recover soon and be able to really enjoy these beautiful days.  We definitely don’t get enough of them.
