Rick is definitely not a passive daddy—he always puts the kids and their interests before everything else.  He views his time off as time with the kids, not time to himself.  When he does things around the house, although it will take him ten times longer, he will get them involved in whatever it is he is doing.  He is the best kind of daddy—strong, but incredibly silly and affectionate.  Attempting to articulate what makes their relationship so special really doesn’t do it justice.  It’s in the way they look at him and the way he looks at them, as well as other subtleties like these that just reflect the genuine love between them.  They know that he is always there for them and that is a wonderful security to have.  Daddies are so important—Franny, Cole, and Delaney are so fortunate that theirs is such a special one.
