The last few weeks have witnessed big changes in Cole.  His speech has improved tremendously, in his sentence structure, ease of speaking, vocabulary, and even his slang (thanks, Grandpa!).  Last week, he even called home on Rick’s cell phone and we had a 12 minute conversation!  I think I’ve seen the biggest changes in his listening, his helping out in new ways, and his understanding of and responding to choices and consequences.  Also noteworthy is that he is starting to dress himself, use the bathroom, eat fruits and vegetables, put away his own clothes, draw shapes, use a sense of humor, understand counting (beyond just saying the numbers), wash his own face and hands…the list goes on and on!  I am just incredibly impressed and amazed over the strides he has taken in such a short period of time.  Everyday it seems like I see something new that he is doing.  And with such a sweet face and voice to boot, I am head over heels for this little guy!
